Hot Water Heat Pumps
Energy-efficient hot water for the modern home.
A hot water heat pump is one of the most energy-efficient ways to heat your home’s water, using the same proven technology as a fridge in reverse. Aotea Plumbing & Drainage can help you choose, install and maintain a hot water heat pump that lowers your power bills and your environmental footprint. Plus they get installed outside to gain back that extra cupboard space. Work alongside brands like Rinnai, rheem, Dux, carrier blue, stibel eltron, Gree, and many more. Something about finding the right one for everyone's budget. Contact us about energy-efficient hot water heat pumps.
What is a hot water heat pump?
A hot water heat pump extracts heat from the surrounding air and uses it to heat the water in your cylinder, rather than relying on an electric element. Because it moves heat rather than generating it, a heat pump can use significantly less energy than a conventional electric hot water system, often a fraction of the running cost.
Is a hot water heat pump right for you?
You want to reduce your power bills and energy use.
You’re replacing an old or failing electric hot water cylinder.
You're sick of the increasing cost of gas and looking for a more affordable option
You’re building or renovating and want an efficient, modern system.
You’d like a more environmentally friendly way to heat your water.
You have a suitable outdoor space for the unit (we can advise on this).
How does a hot water heat pump work?
A heat pump draws in air from outside, passes it over a refrigerant to capture its warmth, then transfers that heat to your hot water cylinder. Even on cooler days there’s enough warmth in the air for the system to work efficiently. Our qualified team will assess your home, recommend the right unit, and handle the full installation.
