Underground Leak Detection
A non-invasive way to pinpoint underground water leaks
Underground leaks can cause high water bills and property damage - and they can be surprisingly hard to find. If you suspect you have an underground leak, our team can pinpoint the source without any digging or damage to the surrounding area. Contact us for professional leak detection and repair services.
What is underground leak detection?
Underground leak detection is used when a property owner suspects they have a leak, but is unsure exactly where the pipe or drain damage has occurred. We use a non-invasive method to find the source of the leak, without any digging or damage to the surrounding area. Once the leak has been found, it’s much easier to make a decision whether to repair, or bypass the fault with new pipework.
Signs you may need underground leak detection
An unexplained spike in your water bill.
A noticeable drop in your water pressure.
Patches of unusually lush, green grass on your lawn.
Patches of ground that are always soggy, even when the weather’s been dry.
How does underground leak detection work?
Our highly specialised acoustic equipment lets our plumbers listen for leaks in pipes located in the ground and under concrete slabs. As pressurised water is forced through a leak, it creates sound waves that can be detected by our equipment. This means leaks can be found and repaired with minimal disruption to property, saving thousands of dollars in costly search-and-destroy methods that do not guarantee a leak location.
